Wasatch Speed Goat History
It all started at Snowbird Ski Resort in the early 90’s with our mentor trail runner Rick Gates. Rick Gates has run and finished 21 Wasatch 100’s in a row. Karl and Scott worked at Snowbird with Rick who sparked our interest in the long trail runs. I meet Karl at mile 97 of his first Wasatch 100, it was raining and he was limping. I shouted “come on Karl, runner’s are passing you!” He looked at me like, you don’t understand ! I sensed that look and started to pursue the challenge, a 100 mile run.
