Oil Creek 100 Trail Runs
Here we go east coast goats, a new 100 mile trail race hits the circuit. My home town of Oil City, Pa. is hosting a new trio of trail races put on by Tom Jennings. This race takes place October 10-11, 2009, Tom is hosting a 50k, 50 miler and a 100 miler at the Oil Creek State Park which was the site for the worlds first commercial oil well. I grew up in Oil City camping and running around these woods with our Wasatch Speed Goat Logo designer Dave Marczak. (10 scrapes for Zak!!!).
ThanksĀ Tom for putting on another needed trail race as these 100 milers are all turning into the lottery process…

Hi Donald - I am running the OC 100. It will be my first 100 and I am training hard for the challenge. I plan on at least two trips to the Gerald trail in August and September for training runs and I’d love to run the 50k loop we will be running 3 times during the race.
Is this is a tough loop to follow before the markings for the race? Feel free to e-mail any info is appreciated: tom@tomsperduto.com

Hi Scott, I was talking to your old roommate John last week and he told me you were running ultras when I asked him about the 50K shirt he was wearing. He said you might be running the Oil Creek 100. I’m training for the Akron Marathon (Sep. 26). Hope to do a 50 miler or longer some day, before its too late, ha!
