I know, I know, you all are thinkin', what a bunch of slow ninnies out there! Well, man, it just poured and poured and the race just became a trail with a river running down it with piles and piles of mud to add. I came into mile 60 right on the heels of eventual winner Paul, but just could not muster up the desire to be out in those conditions for another 11 hours or so. So, the 67 miles was all I had in the tank. I think my 17 hour 67 miler may be the slowest time ever recorded to win a 100 K race. But, take my word for it... it was nuts out there. I give lots of cred to the people who stuck it out and literally crawled around the course for those last two laps. They had more stones than me on that day.
