Whew, I'm exhausted from just reading all the posts from the other day! Good job to all the guys for giving it a good try over on that course. Man, I just can't get over a 59 year old winning that race. Whether he had pacers or short-cut the course, it still blows my mind that he can compete at that level at that age. Inspires me, anyway. Again, good job to all who got out there and went after it.

I was in Chamonix for the UTMMB this past weekend and this was a seriously tough course. At Courmayour Italy mile 44 I felt like it was at least mile 80 in any other hundred I've done and there was some seriously tough climbs and descents left. This course took me 8 hours longer than my Wasatch time last year and I was still a mid-pack finisher. Also the Euro's are impressive trail runners ( sticks or no sticks). They were strong strong, fast and committed to going to the finish it. What an absolute amazing experience though with the Tour de France type atmosphere those amazing mountains I can't wait to hear what Karl has to say about his experience. Bravo to all that took the start of this race and battled the UTMB.

Oh BTW: the 59 year old dude that won is one of the baddest trail mountain runners at any age, it was no fluke that he won against such a steller field.
