I always wear a hat at any race adn usually when training. Habit I guess, but I do find it helps keep the sweat out of my eyes.

I prefer a bandana just because I think its a lot cooler when soaked with water. Congrats on the marriage WHSG! Another question, is there a runner limit on the WSG 50k?

I used to always wear a hat, but my big issue is the heat and my new look is cutoff shirts and no hat to keep cool and so far it does seem better.
Though I will carry a hat with me on my pack in case of rain (I wear glasses).

I usually do the hat thing. I hate direct sun (and sweat) in my eyes and since I don’t care for running in sunglasses on anything technical unless the sun is really intense a hat is pretty much neccesary. (I always feel like sunglasses make me clumsy as a runner). As far as a hat for a 100 specifically, well the only 100 i’ve ever done was in Alaska, in February, so yeah, I sure was wearing a hat… or two.
