NOTES FROM THE GOATS:
I’ve got blisters on my blisters, isn’t that from a Beatles album? In the first days of ultrarunning your feet are tender and you can end up with some big blisters during those 100 mile races. I used to have mole skin, second skin and all kinds of remedies for those pesky blisters, and then I learned to run through them. You can feel the blister developing for several miles and then the hot searing pain of a busted blister begins, this is where it gets tough. The trick is to run faster and ignore the pain for 5 to 6 miles until something else hurts ! p.s. do not take your shoes off!! Bahahaha! one scrape~

    That happened to me at Old Pueblo to the point where I thought that my damn toe was busted. But I made the mistake of taking off my Divides. Was the first race I used the Montrail insoles and got nasty blisters on the toes beside the big one.

    Hi,
    for the not so hard guys I recommend, vasiline or any kind of lotion on your feet.
    Before the race but also during the training times. A soft footskin reduce the friction between the foot and the shoe.

    With second skin I have good experiences in multi day races. But better is to prevent blisters in the first place.

    Around some of my toes/nails, I alway put some bandaid or tape.
    But of course this is all very individual.
